Professional Background

About Maulana Herdi Saputra

I am a Mechanical Engineering graduate with a strong focus on Production, Machining, and Advanced Manufacturing Operations. My career has bridged theoretical engineering principles with direct physical execution on international factory floors.

At Filtrona Filters Hungary Kft., I operate high-velocity KDF machinery, perform continuous Manufacturing Execution System (MES) logging, and conduct dimensional verification using QTM metrology apparatus. Previously at MAHLE Compressors, I specialized in multi-station automotive Continuous Variable Capacity (CVC) compressor assembly for global OEMs (BMW, PSA, Honda, Ferrari), ensuring zero-leakage via helium tracer gas testing and calibrated torque compliance.

In academic research, I investigated motorcycle rider biomechanical safety through Head Impact Power (HIP) and Head Injury Criterion (HIC) modeling, complemented by additive manufacturing of custom sensorized anatomical skull prototypes.

Current Role • High Speed Division

Machine Operator – High Speed Division

Filtrona Filters Hungary Kft. • Szigetszentmiklós, Hungary
June 2026 – Present
Company & Process Overview:

Filtrona is a global market leader in specialized industrial manufacturing and high-speed filtration solution development, operating automated high-volume lines to supply international industrial partners.

Machinery: High-speed KDF production line
Software: MES (Manufacturing Execution System)
Inspection: QTM apparatus (Pressure Drop, weight, dimensions)
Key Engineering Responsibilities:
  • Operate high-speed KDF machinery for specialized filter manufacturing, actively monitoring line velocity and output conditions.
  • Perform systematic pre-production safety and quality checks, including mechanical component inspections, glue calibration, and precise leveling.
  • Collect production samples and conduct dimensional and functional measurements using QTM apparatus (diameter, circumference, Pressure Drop, weight).
  • Utilize Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software to record continuous production logs and report downtime occurrences.
  • Conduct rigorous visual and in-process quality inspections, evaluating product appearance, total length, recess depth, and end-segment conformity.
  • Perform operator-level machine adjustments and mechanical troubleshooting, including regular blade, knife, and belt replacements during routine maintenance cycles.
Tier-1 Automotive OEM Supply

Assembly Operator (Compressor Manufacturing)

MAHLE Compressors • Balassagyarmat, Hungary
February 2025 – June 2026
Company & Process Overview:

MAHLE is a tier-1 global automotive supplier. The Balassagyarmat plant specializes in precision assembly of Continuous Variable Capacity (CVC) automotive air-conditioning compressors for global automotive OEMs (including BMW, PSA, Honda, Ferrari).

Shift Volume: ~720 compressor units per shift
Testing: Helium leak chamber, torque verification
Tolerance: Calibrated shimming & shaft backlash
Key Engineering Responsibilities:
  • Performed precision assembly of CVC automotive compressors across multiple automated and manual stations in compliance with strict OEM standards.
  • Executed station procedures: Pressure & Torque Measurement, Helium Leak Testing, Oil Charge & Final Torque, and Compressor Wash.
  • Handled intricate mechanical sub-assemblies: SSV oiling and implantation, calibrated shim ring placement, seeger ring retention, and shaft axial backlash verification.
  • Conducted 100% in-process visual checks and functional verifications to identify non-conformities before units progressed to final quality gates.
  • Supported sustained shift output targets (~720 compressor units per shift) while upholding 5S workplace organization and industrial occupational safety protocols.
  • Actively participated in Kaizen continuous improvement initiatives to minimize line defect rates and eliminate bottlenecks.
Technical Domain Competency

7 Manufacturing & Assembly Processes

Comprehensive technical understanding and shop-floor execution across specialized assembly stations.

01 Fluids & Lubrication

Oil Filling & Lubricant Metering

Controlled lubricant charging in compressor assembly. Ensures exact fluid volume metering to guarantee internal mechanical lubrication, prevent friction wear, and secure operational reliability.

Critical Metric: Precise volumetric dosage (ml)
02 Quality Inspection

Helium Pressure & Leakage Testing

Automated leak testing using tracer gas vacuum chambers to verify hermetic sealing integrity. Critical for quality verification and preventing refrigerant leakage in closed-loop systems.

Standard: Zero ppm atmospheric tracer leak
03 Fastening & Metrology

Pressure & Torque Measurement

Calibrated torque verification during compressor assembly and testing. Ensures bolted joints and pressurized housings conform strictly to engineering specifications.

Verification: Digital sensor torque transducers
04 Sub-Assembly

SSV Oiling & Implantation

Component lubrication, accurate positioning, and insertion within the assembly process. Guarantees smooth displacement control valve response in variable capacity compressors.

Precision: Sub-millimeter seating & O-ring seal
05 Tolerances & Retention

Shim & Seeger Ring Placement

Component installation and retention procedures in mechanical assemblies. Calibrated shimming establishes required axial tolerances, while seeger rings securely retain parts under rotational loads.

Standard: DIN 471/472 retaining clip standards
06 Clearance Verification

Shaft Axial Backlash Inspection

Dial indicator verification of axial play in rotating shafts. Prevents rotor binding, excessive vibration, and premature bearing fatigue under high operating temperatures.

Tolerance: Dial gage micrometric clearance
07 Casing Containment

Compressor Screw Assembly & Multi-Spindle Tightening

Automated multi-spindle screw tightening operations with programmed cross-pattern torque sequences and lubrication verification essential for structural casing containment under extreme operational refrigerant pressures.

Control: Multi-stage angle & torque-to-yield monitoring
